Moody Campus Radio exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, to give students practical experience and training in the field of communications, and to provide edifying, relevant, entertaining programming and music through speaking, writing, and the arts.
In short, the students of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Students from a variety of different majors and backgrounds volunteer to help the station operate. From on-air program hosts to behind the scenes management teams to every single contributor in a program discussion, Moody Campus Radio is truly a collaborative effort.
Under the direction of Professor Jim Kragel, Moody Campus Radio first began broadcasting in the mid 1980’s. The station has had several names before settling on their current “Moody Campus Radio,” including WMSR, C53, and WMCR. For the next 18 years, the station broadcast over an AM signal. In January of 2002, Moody Campus Radio switched to broadcasting over the internet. By using the internet, programs can be heard world-wide.
